Likely one of our largest endeavors— we’ve created Doormatch, a home-to-user matching algorithm that will aid our Client Partners to match customers to their ideal investment home.

This article will discuss how Doormatch will help our users get started on their journeys to financial security even faster than before.

Before we continue, we wanted to give many thanks for the gracious feedback provided by many of you. This includes feature requests, bug fixes, and overall process suggestions.

New Functionality

You can read more about the design and ideation process below, but first, let’s cover what functionality has been added!

There’s no real interface for the user to look at. In fact, many of our (nontechnical) team members also don’t have much view of what’s the algorithm is doing in the background.

So, what’s going on?

The algorithm takes in a bunch of inputs from our Doorvestors, our Client Partners, and our Acquisition team. It does a ton of fancy math, and the final output is automatically matched Doorvestors to homes that fit their criteria.

But what’s important is the end goal of this— to decrease the amount of time needed to get a Doorvestor on their journey to financial security. After all, we’re on a mission to advance financial security for all.

The Product, Design, and Engineering Process

Our design process always starts with, “what problem(s) are we trying to solve?” And that’s where your feedback comes in. Asking for feature requests, providing feedback for our team, and giving suggestions for improvements are a foundational component to our design process. We review everything provided by you, our Doorvestors, and our internal team members!

For Doormatch, the main problem we wanted to solve was the experience of unknowns that comes with selecting a single property to purchase. Each home is quirky in its own way. And each Doorvestor has their own set of goals and investment criteria.

We wanted to create a tool that would help match homes to users to decrease the time needed to choose a perfect investment home, saving precious time for our user base. Not only that, it’s a tool to aid our Client Partners team who help customers on their real estate investment journey.
